(Curly) Stewart was the first mayor of Lions Bay and served from 1971 to 1982.  Mr. Stewart contributed a great deal to the village and in recognition of that Stewart Road was named in his honour.  The Curly Stewart Memorial Trust Fund Award is presented annually to a qualifying student towards their post-secondary education.
