The Village of Lions Bay will hold a by-election for the office of one Councillor on Saturday, November 19, 2016. The term for the position will end October 2018, when the next general local election will be held. The by-election is being held to fill the position formerly held by Helen Waterson, who resigned on June 6, 2016.
The nomination period will be open from 10 am on Tuesday, October 4, 2016 until 4 pm on Friday, October 14, 2016. Nomination documents are available at the Village office, or online via the links below.
Eligible voters will be able to cast their ballots at the community hall on November 19th or during the advance voting opportunity on Wednesday, November 9, 2016. Electors may also vote by mail ballot.
Electors will also have an opportunity to vote “yes” or “no” to Infrastructure Master Plan Financing Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 508, 2016. The ballot question voters will be asked is: Are you in favour of the Village of Lions Bay borrowing up to $3 million over the next five years, amortized for up to 30 years, to help fund the capital projects described in Infrastructure Master Plan Financing Loan Authorization Bylaw No. 508, 2016?
