Administration

Administration of encompasses three key functions:

  • Overall management of the operations of the municipality, through the Chief Administrative Officer, who ensures that the policies and directives of Council are implemented. 
  • Oversight of contracts and agreements, protocol, planning and development, legal matters, records management and Freedom of Information requests.  
  • Council support, including organisation of Council and Committee meeting agendas, keeping minutes of these meetings, preparation of bylaws, safekeeping of municipal records, and provision of information to the public:
    • Processing and coordinating all business relative to the Village of Lions Bay’s Council
    • Carrying out statutory requirements in relation to the Community Charter and the Local Government Act
    • Providing information and directing enquiries to the appropriate departments
    • Providing advice with respect to Council procedures, policies, and function
    • Coordinating and providing information to Council to support the decision-making process
    • Providing administrative services to the majority of Council’s committees
