Annual Drinking Water Quality Reports

Lions Bay collects drinking water from Magnesia, Alberta and Harvey Creeks, and disinfects it by ultraviolet irradiation and chlorination at two treatment plants.  Raw and treated water is tested regularly to ensure it meets Canadian drinking water guidelines. In accordance with BC’s Drinking Water Protection Regulation, Section 11, the municipality provides an annual water quality report to regional water regulator Vancouver Coastal Health on:

  • bacterial inactivation
  • physical and chemical parameters
  • operator training and certification.

Submitting an annual report by June 30 of the next year is a condition of the treatment plant permits.
