Lone Tree Creek Wildfire – Evacuation Alert Rescinded

August 24, 2026 – 11:10 a.m.

The Village of Lions Bay is pleased to advise residents of a significant improvement in the status of the Lone Tree Creek Wildfire (V31874).

The wildfire is now classified as Being Held, and based on improved fire conditions and the latest operational assessment, the Evacuation Alert for affected Lions Bay properties has been rescinded.

There is currently no Evacuation Alert or Evacuation Order in effect for Lions Bay related to this incident.

Residents within the affected Oceanview Road and Kelvin Grove Way areas are being notified directly that the Alert has been lifted.

While this is very positive news, response activities are continuing. Metro Vancouver and BC Wildfire Service will maintain suppression, monitoring, and assessment of the fire area. Lions Bay Fire Rescue will also continue to maintain situational awareness and coordinate with partner agencies as required.

The Village extends its sincere appreciation to Fire Chief DeArcangelis and Lions Bay Fire Rescue, BC Wildfire Service, Metro Vancouver, Lions Bay Search and Rescue, Emergency Management and Climate Readiness BC, and all those involved in the coordinated response. We also thank affected residents and the broader community for their patience, preparedness, and cooperation throughout the incident.

The Village will continue to monitor the situation and will provide further information should conditions change.
