Lions Bay Fire Rescue (LBFR) are the first responders to a variety of emergency and non-emergency incidents. We respond to not only fires but also medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, technical rescues, forest interface, and many more. We are highly trained and cumulatively volunteer over 2050 man hours each month in training, shift weekends, and emergency response.
LBFR is a paid on-call fire department located approximately 10 kilometres north of West Vancouver on the Sea to Sky Highway (HWY 99). We operate with 1 fire hall, 3 emergency apparatus, 25 on-call firefighters and a training facility.
We proudly serve the Village of Lions Bay and its 1500 residents. LBFRs response area includes approximately 500 residential homes and various business and municipal buildings in Lions Bay. As well, we respond to incidents along a 26-kilometre section of HWY 99 from West Vancouver to Britannia Beach.
