The Village of Lions Bay obtains its drinking water from two surface water sources: Magnesia Creek and Harvey Creek. Drinking water is tested regularly to ensure it meets Canadian drinking water guidelines.
In accordance with the BC Drinking Water Protection Regulation, Section 11, the Village of Lions Bay is required to provide and annual report on water quality to the regional health authority - Vancouver Coastal Health. The Annual Drinking Water Quality Report includes information about:
- bacteriological quality
- physical parameters
- chemical parameters
- operator training and certification
Submitting an annual report is a condition of our permit to operate both treatment plants.
