Lions Bay collects raw water from Magnesia, Alberta and Harvey Creeks, and treats it by ultraviolet irradiation and chlorination disinfection at two treatment plants.
Raw and treated water is continually tested to ensure it meets Health Canada's Guidelines for Drinking Water Quality. In accordance with the municipality's operating permits under BC’s Drinking Water Protection Regulation, we submit detailed annual reports on drinking water quality to our regulator, Vancouver Coastal Health.
