Planning and Development involves the long-range plans, policies and regulations that support the environmental, social and economic goals of Lions Bay, under the frameworks of the Official Community Plan (OCP). In 2017, Council adopted a new Zoning Bylaw which provides a cohesive modern regulatory framework for land use throughout the Village of Lions Bay, including regulation of short-term rental propertiess, adding a Marine zone, allowing cottages, and support for subdivision of land.
